Wow they really named a flower after Timothee Chamomile!
Pro tip for older gardeners like me (55 year old), do the heavy work like mulching in sprints, then break to watch an Epic garden video, and then another heavy work sprint.
The type of Mexican Sunflower you grow from seed is an incredible bee & butterfly magnet but it gets HUGE and grows so many flowers that it eventually begins to collapse on itself. Little birds eat the seeds in winter.

Dear Kevin, I've been growing tromboncino squash this year, and it has quickly become my new favourite squash. When it’s young, it works perfectly as a zucchini, but it can also be used as a winter squash once mature. I’ve also found it to be more resistant to certain diseases compared to other varieties. I think it deserves more attention, and you’d make a great YouTube video about it so more people can discover how versatile it is.
In the Great Lakes, the wild blue lupine (Lupinus perennis) should be the only kind grown - the nonnative lupines are crowding out the native lupines that are the ONLY host plant for: karner blue butterfly, frosted elfin butterfly, and the persius duskywing. It is a nectaring plant for: other duskywings, the long dash butterfly, several varieties of skipper butterflies, and the spicebush swallowtail.
Native wildflowers are some of the best you can use, you can buy live roots and put them in their own bed to spread and take over then separate the roots and plant them around wherever you want them
Cosmos, dill, fennel, cilantro, calindula (single not double) are some of the best nonnative flowers for wildlife.
