I live in a place where fireflies breed. I didn't see any fireflies this year. They're dying. I'm scared.
My mom had blue ghost fireflies on her property when she lived in North Catalonia. Simply amazing. They hovered just above the forest floor and did not blink. It was like a blanket of blue light.
Realistically, if aliens are trying to communicate with each other across interstellar distances, their signals will be highly directional and highly compressed, indistinguishable from noise unless you have the synchronization key.
Years ago one summer night i was looking out into the woods and watching the fireflies. After a while i saw hundeds of them gradually synchronize and i thought for sure i was tripping. It spooked me until i found out it is a thinig. Glad you brought it to everyone's attention.
It's never aliens, until Anton says it is
I understand that light pollution is interfering with the firefly mating cycle.
Pulse, pulse, flash - Stay wonderful!!
You are a hard working guy. Amazing the quality and frequency of content. Thanks.
How terrifying would it be if suddenly, literally all of the stars started flashing in unison. We're the only species unable to detect that there's intelligent life on every star system.
If you live in a place that has fireflies, take the time to breed them and release them. If enough of us did this, they could make a comeback.
