My daughter said they were not going to have children. I was fine with her decision. My health sucks so I think that had a lot to do with the way I felt. Then her husband became a firefighter. Before he was a teacher but was not happy. When he became a firefighter it made him feel like a man and I think a man with a important job. That’s when he told my daughter he wanted children. She’s due in 3 weeks. I’m so happy for her and my son in law.
My Mom always said, "If you wait until you can afford children, you will never have them."
Since I was a child, I knew I never wanted children. A few years ago I found out I can't have children. I have an aunt and uncle who never had children and they had a huge role in helping raise my two brothers and myself. Both my brothers are soon-to-be fathers and I'm looking forward to filling that role in their lives. I know that God called me to service as a teacher. I know God also put my aunt into my life to show me that, while I was not called to be a parent, I am called to be an aunt.
I was travelling for most of my adult life, have my first child at 40 my second at 42. My life was empty and did not know it, now every time I see my adult children my heart fills with a joy that not any of my previous best times can't compare. Thank you God for making my life complete.
"Thousands of years of toil end with you?" Matt, you just made the best case to not have children.
No livable wages and world being too evil = not having children
Our ancestors left it to us and our politicians gave it to everyone else. The legacy has ended.
They had kids because there was no contraception hahaha not because they wanted to.
My bloodline stops with me, deal with it!
Matt doesn't understand when "normal" people say economy, they are saying they are struggling with food and living situation. Not luxury, just struggling with basic necessity.
