What about the venture capitalists, like Mitt Romney, who for decades have been buying up industries across the US, laying off the employees, liquidating the assets, and ultimately shutting down the industries? I have relatives in the Midwest who were affected by this very practice. I also have a friend who worked for a particular industry in the US about 25 years ago. The company she worked for (that had 100s of employees) decided to close and move to Indonesia. Before they closed, they wanted my friend and other US workers that were skilled in the industry to train the new "Indonesian" workers who were brought to the US for training. She was demoralized to be expected to train people who were being given the livelyhoods of her coworkers and of herself. Working with the food processing industry, I have also seen what venture capitalist do in their quest to monopolize the food industry and how they hire foreign workers to cut costs.
Alex asked.. But Professor Sach's didn't take the bait. Yes, American companies shipped much of their manufacturing overseas in the '90's. And the vast majority of the politicians in Washington benefited from it and actively encouraged it as a means to increase their global political clout.
Thank you guys for keeping it real for the last few years !

The only part of this I really get is that rich people want their tax cuts at all costs, an corporations want to pay zero at all costs. Sickening!
