I'm honestly not convinced that Miguel is right about Miles being a mistake. I suspect there are larger forces at work.
What I noticed right away was in the speech Miles’ mom gives him, she says “Don’t let anyone tell you, you don’t belong.” And then when Miguel is like, pounding him on the train, he tells Miles you don’t belong here. And what I love is that at that moment, miles beats Miguel and gets away, as if his mother’s words were playing in his head. God I love this movie.
the nueva york sequence imo is the best directed sequence in animated movie history. From the Cannon monologue, foot chase, train chase and go-home-machine, just absolutely insane
I thought it was both an incredibly good idea and smart to show just how sad it actually is to be Spider-Man. Much like the second movie forever ago Spider-Man doesn't usually get to be happy. Awful things happen to Peter and he never has enough time for anything because he's using his gift for the better good. To be Spider-Man is to suffer.
Ive had the "Nah, ima do my own thing" on my mind since watching the Film lol.
I really really loved how warm and cool colors were used in Gwen's universe to show her emotions. This movie is visually amazing and i would hang up every frame of this movie on my wall if i could, it's soo good
There's something i found pretty tragic about this scene. As of the climax of that train chase, Miles was completely willing to cut off his relationships to his previous Spider friends, Peter B, and especially Gwen. Since leaving Earth 1610, there hasn't really been positive interaction between the two of them. Starting from the moment she says "Goodbye Miles" followed later by her saying "i should have never visited you again." Which this is later paralleled by him after learning of his father's fate, reaffirming her statement, "you're right, you should have never visited me" and finally "Goodbye Gwen" before exaggerated swaggering his way off the train. It really feels like one of those ABBA format poems.
If you compare this scene to the first time Miles truly became Spiderman, it's almost as if Miles did two Leap of Faiths. First one being Miles stepping up and filling his role as Spiderman, and the 2nd being that Miles doing his own thing and controlling his destiny.
Cheers for checking out the video everyone. Apologies for all the Spider-verse vids back to back this week I’m just taking a week off so wanted to get some stuff I could easily record to go out through the week. Hope you guys enjoy it either way. Peace.
Every Spider-Man story in existence: "Suffering builds character, suffering builds character, suffering builds character" Miles: "Nah, screw that."
