Description

4 years ago I tried to make this video but I failed. I'm glad I did, because I'm convinced now the biggest threat is different than I ever imagined. Welcome to the new dystopian technology powering scams, propaganda and harassment. Viewer discretion advised @21:00. Russian explains propaganda: https://youtu.be/BY9uuxC_YAQ?si=e-Jg4B7NVtEFXX7V Support Coffeezilla and Independent Journalism: ► Patreon: https://patreon.com/coffeezilla Follow: ► Twitter: @coffeebreak_yt ► Instagram: @coffeebreak_yt Credits: 3D Artist: Ed Leszczynski @LeszczynskiEd Video Editor: Harry Bagg @HarryRBagg End Credits Composer: Claire Wickes @clairewritesmusic Intro Composer: @palmers_medic Maxwell: @Technicals Camera Motion Tracking: Mo-Sys Startracker https://www.mo-sys.com/product/camera-tracking/startracker/ Virtual Production Platform: Aximmetry https://aximmetry.com/ DISCLAIMER - Updated May 2025 This program operates under the rhetorically hyperbolic banner “CRIME IS LEGAL” to highlight—and satirize—our view that modern enforcement mechanisms are lax, uneven and insufficient. The slogan does not assert that illegal conduct is actually permissible; it underscores regulatory gaps and the impossibility of declaring something as illegal on a factual basis. All content herein constitutes commentary and opinion based on investigative journalism conducted with (i) publicly available documents, (ii) interviews, and (iii) other verifiable sources. References to “scams,” “fraud,” “theft,” or related terms are made in the same rhetorically hyperbolic context of “CRIME IS LEGAL” and should not be taken as definitive findings of fact or legal conclusions. Facts, evidence, and independent analysis are used in this program to draw strongly opinionated conclusions, but it is important to draw a sharp distinction between the facts and evidence presented, and the opinions drawn based on such material. To be absolutely clear: Facts and evidence may be given to support the author's opinion that something is a "scam" or a "grift", but the final conclusion itself is inherently subjective. No statement can or should be interpreted as a categorical declaration that any person has violated civil or criminal law unless a court has so ruled. Viewers are encouraged to examine the cited materials and reach their own conclusions. Anyone featured who believes a statement is inaccurate or incomplete may contact us at our Youtube business email with supporting documentation under the SUBJECT: “CORRECTION REQUEST”. We will promptly review substantiated concerns and, where appropriate, issue corrections or updates. Production of this program is newsgathering and public‑interest commentary protected by the First Amendment and the Texas Citizens Participation Act (TCPA).

The OF guy reminded me of a scene from the Big Short - Why is he confessing? - He's not confessing, he's bragging

Trickiest thing about spotting a deepfake of Mr. Beast is that bro already _looks_ AI-generated.

One thing that has probably weakened my AI perception is that YouTube has been editing shorts, I assume to artificially scale up the image, so everything looks fake.

Reminds me of an old joke. An American and a Soviet are talking about propaganda. The Soviet says, “Da, Soviet propaganda is bad but American propaganda is so much worse.” The American replies, “What are you talking about? We don’t have propaganda in the US!” The Soviet laughs and says, “See, I told you it was worse!”

Less than 48 hours ago, i went to take my 80yo grandmother some groceries and household items. I walked in and she was sitting on her couch, face was white as a sheet and she had her hand over her open mouth staring at her Iphone. She was mortified that people were pushing other people in wheelchairs onto highways. They were getting hit by semi-trucks and launched out of the frame. She was so utterly confused. We had a talk.

20:40 that video of the "entitled Mom" are the ones I'm most terrified of. A lot of people don't realize how *insanely* popular content like that already is. Being able to on demand produce endless amounts of it with a political message like that could be insanely powerful.
