What I’ve found I love most about professor Jiang over the last 8 hour binge I’ve been on, is his belief in family, community, intrinsic motivation, spirituality, and love. He sees these things as the true meaning of life and the only thing of real import. That’s why he is able to speak so matter of factly about the end of the world. He doesn’t care because he has already found heaven in his own life, with his family, and through the eyes of his children. It’s actually his most beautiful and pertinent lesson. I’m truly in awe.

The statement about taking a leap of imagination, and letting it be the guiding light was the best advice that could ever come out of a lecture. With the emergence of AI and in a world where we are using our imaginative powers less and less, always prioritising facts over feelings confines us in the same restraint as a robot, it takes away from our humanity.
