It's Australia. The cryptids likely live in fear of the regular animals there.

As an Aussie, and an Aboriginal, I want to say thank you for covering this. ❤ - I'm not sure what this was, but one night I was fishing, alone in the bush. My friend had taken the torch and it was very dark. I heard the bush rumble beside me. Branches snapping. I suddenly felt very afraid. Whatever it was, was huge. It went quiet. Like dead quiet. Not a cricket or a bandicoot or even a breeze and I began praying my friend would come back with the torch when I heard a deep grunt. Not a vocal noise, but an inner chest "thump" sound. It happened three times. Reminded me of a gorilla but it sounded bigger. Not sure what it was, but I never fished alone in the bush at night after that. Lol
My grandfather, a WW2 veteran and tough SOB was chased by ‘min min’ lights while driving on the highway to Darwin in the 70’s. Things get weird down here.
