Considering the literal billions of dollars large organizations saved each year with open source projects, it's about time open source started demanding the biggest earners support the projects they depend on.

Isn't Deno doing the same thing but free? I've never built a Deno project but I thought it was also trying to solve the same issues. Would love to see Theo dive deep on Deno.

34:07 yeah because the proprietary stuff is just hosted by someone else now as a microservice, eg workos/clerk, although a lot of those types are open core open source non-horizontally-scaling version as well
