Meloni had to know that flatly turning down a request from Trump to merely use their airstrips was NOT going to sit well with him. The Europeans all want to be NATO members only as a convenience for them and let the US pay most of the bill. She did this to herself. Trump mentioning the photo was just a jab back at her, and it very clearly hit the mark. The US should leave NATO already.

This may be an Italian issue but in the US nobody talking about or cares about Italian hurt feelings

Meloni stopped being a conservative leader when she turned her back on her own people and did the one thing that she said that she would never do. She has approved over 500,000 more illegal aliens to come to Italy. This also is not just a fight with Italy, it is a fight with western european NATO allies as well and NATO in general.
