When confronted with what they were doing with the vast troves of voter roll data that they were hoovering up across country earlier this year, the Trump Justice Department claimed that the government was storing it safely, securely in compliance with federal law and had not yet begun its analysis of that data. The next day, a federal prosecutor admitted none of that was true.
