Joe Rogan Experience #2368 - Michael Button
Deep Time Mysteries: Debunking the Conventional Timeline of Human Civilization
Discover why recent archaeological evidence—from ancient wooden structures to unexpected human remains—challenges the accepted timeline of civilization and human intelligence.
Short Summary
- Uncover evidence suggesting sophisticated human intelligence and permanent settlement existed hundreds of thousands of years before current academic consensus.
- Analyze paradigm-shifting artifacts, such as the 476,000-year-old Kalambo structure, used to question established milestones like the Neolithic Revolution.
- Examine why established academic systems resist new evidence, demonstrated by historical pushback against findings like those at Clovis First and Göbekli Tepe.
Michael Button shares how his study of ancient history led him to question the mainstream narrative regarding the origin and depth of human civilization. This discussion focuses heavily on the "preservation problem"—the likelihood that vast amounts of evidence from older, complex cultures have been naturally erased by geological time scales. Together, they explore geological evidence, potential cataclysms, and the cognitive biases that maintain rigid historical timelines.

I read once that the arrogance of the present is forgetting the intelligence of the past.
If you look at the Roman ruins in the UK particularly, there are entire cities that no longer exist. Trenches , walls, pottery shards, armor and clothing, all decayed to the point where we can’t even locate some of the mapped outposts. That was only 2000 years ago.
There are two things I learned from this video. We're older than we've been told. Apparently, there's a person named Flint Dibble who's losing his shit somewhere for some reason.
I feel like I’ve had this entire conversation in a strangers kitchen at 4am 😂
Flint Dibble with his Temu Indiana Jones hat! 😅🤣😂
