You liked it for 4 years? Yes? Keep it for a daily. What is it worth? 4k? Keep it.
Always get the vehicle inspected by an independent mechanic before buying. If you're not having any major problems then drive it until it dies.
Back in 2921 I sold my 2020Veloster N to CarMax. I told them I had an accident in the front as a guy ran a red light. They gave me 30 grand (American) and when I saw it on their website it said clean Carfax. The car went thru my insurance. I don't see how they could have missed it when I specifically told them because they told me they had to check the Carfax before they cut me a check.
I understand that Carfax isn't always accurate. Maintenance items and accidents are reported if they have signed up with Carfax. If not, then no.
Great video Mark! Thank you for taking time to research. I will definitely be staying tuned.
Longshot, but there are for sure those stories about VINs getting keyed in wrong/clerical errors with accidents showing up on the carfax of the wrong car
really good car tho... better to keep it if its running good mechanically , good engine + transmission? Have it preped body and interior and headlights, then tints.
Another great informative, interesting video Mark. It's a shame that you got scammed 😕
Auto Check is a far better choice to investigate a vehicle’s history than Car Fax. That comes from a long time trusted friend with many years of experience in the new car industry.
Looked at a car I wanted. Seller said it had been in a bender and showed me all the repair invoices. It didn't look all that bad. First time I took it to Toyota to tighten a belt, He opens the hood and says "You know this isn't an original hood"?? What the heck, it ran fine and he had put a lot of miles on it since the fender bender. Without the repairs invoices, I would have walked away.
