I’ve been following for years and I’m glad you finally visited my country much respect mark
Somebody hand this man a Whittakers Peanut Slab already?!🙂
I used to live across the road from Tipenes. I'd wander over, get a box of fish and chips, bring it home and watch Mark's videos while I ate it. Now I'm living in a different country watching Mark eating Tipenes across the road from my old house..! Struggling to wrap my brain around this one! :D
The P part of the drink L&P (Lemon and Paeroa) refers to the MINERAL WATER used to make the Lemonade, not the region where the lemons are grown, though they might come from there. It's a true taste of New Zealand.
Australian here - that Kiwi burger with beetroot looks absolutely amazing! i'm a massive fan of a proper Aussie burger with the lot (beef, lettuce, cheese, PINEAPPLE, beetroot, bacon, onions, tomato sauce - always best made at a suburban Greek fish n chip shop, in my humble opinion), but the butter, relish, heaps of crispy lettuce, egg technique & messy-juiciness of this is something else. i'm gonna make this at home asap. thanks Mark, and kia ora to our Kiwi neighbours!
Welcome to NZ brother, been watching for 15 years! Hope you enjoy yourself
As a kiwi, I absolutely love that all these foreigners are coming here and making our custom things better <3 Bringing their expertise to our fav dishes and giving us something special!!!
I loved how the Tipene's Fish and Chip shop cooked the chips separately - that way the chips are not undercooked and the fish is not overcooked. Using a spray bottle for the vinegar is brilliant! The price is a bargain!
I learnt the other day that the Maori word for sweet potato, "kumara" is also used in tribal areas of Chile as the word for sweet potato. It's derived from the Quechua word k'umara, which is strikingly similar to the Polynesian kūmara. This linguistic similarity supports the theory of pre-Columbian trans-oceanic contact between Polynesian seafarers and indigenous South American cultures, evidenced by the presence of sweet potatoes in Polynesia before European arrival linking the two regions.
at 10:13 you just realised the danger of Eating a Pie while driving, once that mince meat starts dripping down your hands its game over and a simple act of eating a pie can become more dangerous than drink driving
