Ford slashing prices??? I JUST LEFT A FORD DEALER. Here is what occurred. I was looking at F-250s. I went to one of these mega huge dealerships. It was a Saturday afternoon, 80F, sunny gorgeous weather. There were ZERO customers. The place was empty. The amount of inventory was unbelievable. Row after row of pickups and Broncos as far as the eye could see and most were 2024 models. Prices were as follows for 2024 models still on the lot: XLT: $63k Lariat: $93k Platinum: $103k This included the dealer add-ons of $5,000 for blinking 3rd tail light, nitrogen tires, and my fave 'ceramic spray to make the paint last longer'. No market adjustment prices though. A salesman came over. Very nice. No pushy tactics. He was well versed on the product. He told me that everyone is getting 'employee pricing' so I could expect $2,000 off the price. Wow what a deal. I told him that the prices were way out of line and no one can afford this. His reply “you'd be surprised”. I said “then why are do you have so much inventory that's been here for almost 2 years?” No answer. I told him I'd pay around $50,000 for the Lariat to which he said “yea, that's not going to happen” and he thanks me for coming and walked away. With zero customers and tons of inventory, these dealers have lost their collective minds. Who the hell is going to pay these prices? No one can afford them and even if I could I would not pay such bloated amounts.

$72k is not middle class price or cost effective, I wish I was middle class enough to spend $72k for a "fun vehicle "

75k for a truck. You're afraid to use it. Don't want to get even a scratch on it. Take ít off road, not. I don't get it.

With all the recalls from Ford, a lot of people don't want a Fixit Or Repair Daily vehicle, let alone, pay $125,000 for one

Since my local Toyota dealer has very little inventory no one comes out to harass me. I use the executive washroom, the free coffee and get some steps in looking at what little they do have. It helps that all the salespeople know me and exactly where I am coming from. My 2015 Tundra is better than both the new Tacoma and Tundra, because it is paid for!

Nope thats not going to save them by a longshot. Cut prices by 30 percent and you may get somewhere

Went to a ford dealership yesterday. Three salesmen watched me walk the entire lot for 15 minutes and never came out.

Still way overpriced. They've been screwing customers years. Best way to deal with this is stop buying all together.

The experience that made my wife and I cringe was with Go Auto in Kelowna. I went down just to take a look and was pressured into a test drive. I wasn't really excited about the car as it looked like it could have been driven hard and put away wet so tot speak. After a brief test drive we came back to the office. They immediately wanted to know how I wanted to pay (before the negotiation). I had a trade so they took a look at it and my wife and I sat in the office waiting. I waited about 1 hr with no results, so tole them we were no longer interested. On our way home we stopped at the VW dealer. They had a similar car about 1/2 the mileage, in much better condition, and listed at $1000.00 less. We talked for about 15 minutes. They gave an offer and I accepted. Out the door in less than 1/2r with no hassle. I still think why I was sitting in the waiting room of Go Auto for over 1 hr waiting for the manager to make a decision. He probably was going through Auto Trader to see what my trade was worth, but they lost the sale, and I will never go back to that dealer again.

Hands down this is the best automotive site in town. Great Job.
