Rule of thumb with the Germans...If you can't afford a new one, you can't afford to repair an old one.
My brother used to tease me about my 2018 Toyota Camry XLE. He bought a 2019 BMW 750i brand new. Beautiful car, but it developed a problem with the climate control system in 2023. Took it to the dealership and it cost 7K to repair. My Camry has only needed general maintenance. Needless to say he doesn't tease me about my Camry anymore.
Along with Mercedes , the same can be said about Audis and Range Rovers. Luxury cars bring luxury prices that includes cost of repairs and parts. .
I bought a 10 year old lexus LS400 in 2012 for $14K . Still selling for about 14K with 110 K miles on it. lexus=value
We've leased the the 300 4Matic through three different model changes. 1st two had the Six Cylinder and we had the 2018 with the Turbo 4. When it went in for it's final Oil change under lease, they found the Gaskets on the front and rear differentials were both leaking and needed to be replaced under lease and warranty. It had 20K miles on it. After that, Mercedes claimed the main computer pooped the bed and replaced that as well. Had a Loaner for one month while they fixed it. It came off lease about two months later and Mercedes asked if we wanted to purchase it. I was never so happy to give a car back with 21K miles on it.
My father told me over 55 years ago that if you buy a used car you’re usually buying someone else’s problems!
A Benz salesman said avoid all makes after 2017....too many electronics n sensors....my 2012 E350 is still a rolling gem❤❤
High end cars have so much tech, they have to make everything from plastic to save weight and maintain fuel efficiency. And we all know that plastic parts don't last like metal parts and there you have your high priced repair bills.
The C300 design flows together very nicely. It reminds me of early 2000's SAAB 9-5 and 9-3 designs. Beautiful.
I’m glad I landed on this video. I’m looking for a used luxury vehicle, it’s going to be my first time, I’m comparing SUV from MB, Audi, BMW and Lexus, so far, Lexus is leading the race, any advice? Thanks for your time making these insightful videos.
