I think I am more sick and tired of AI glazing than I was about crypto glazing

Performance review (hypothetical): Manager: how much did you use AI to generate code in the last quarter? Dev: none Manager: but we have a directive from upper management saying we must use AI! Dev: I did, I use AI to condense all communications from upper management into a weekly digest of 100 words or less. Not having to read all the AI generated fluff they keep sending is a huge time saver, and leaves me with a lot more time to code!

We put so much money in AI you MUST USE IT!

I swear people have no idea how numbers work in real world. Even "just" doubling anything is INSANE increase. 50km/h vs 100km/h, squatting 100kg vs 200kg, earning $50k/year vs $100k/year, working 4h/day vs 8h/day etc.. The fact that this 100x bullsh*t is coming from someone who is supposed to be a smart guy is just ridiculous.

At my work management really wants us to use AI, they are super pushy. They did a survey asking people about their AI usage, asking how much people use it, barriers to usage, how to increase usage, etc. over half of respondents said they don’t use it because the accuracy of responses were bad. Naturally instead of recognizing that software engineers weren’t using it because of accuracy, management decided we need more trainings, so every week they are making us watch an AI demo that some guy puts together having AI solve a tiny problem. It’s really dumb.
