This week at 60 Minutes, we are remembering and missing our dear friend and colleague, Morley Safer ⏱️
In the 70s and 80s when there was no internet, this show was the bomb diggity! So many fascinating places. So many fascinating people. So many incredible stories.
A classic 60 Minutes story, Morley Safer always had a way of turning remote places into compelling, human-focused investigations.
Thank you for posting old shows so i can see how things were in the past.
Wonderful thank you.
I just searched on the internet, and, incredibly, the Maldives are still leading the world in divorce rates. Almost 50 years after this report was recorded, the Maldives remain the country with the highest number of divorces per capita in the world. It's almost 11 divorces per thousand people annually.
Amazing surfing in The Maldives. Great to see Morley Safer in his prime. I watched him every Sunday growing up and up until his retirement, and he passed away just eight days after retiring. What an absolute legend.
I remember this segment
Those evangelicals paid for that radio time because they saw untapped donors in the Maldivians.
Throwback 💯💯💯💯
