The most uncomfortable takeaway: the better talker with 70% output often beats the silent 100% performer. Fair? No. Predictable? Absolutely.
He isn't telling the downside of getting those promotions... You get assigned the big urgency projects and trade a lot of cortisol for a few percent more money which won't change your life
never make your manager ask for your status. If they have to ask, you lose
"Communicating at the right altitude" is gold
Hmm, okay. Then use recency bias to your advantage! :) Slack in the beginning of the year and then shift gears towards the end of the year! This way everyone will remember your last achievements! Ez win 😂

The main thing that helped me with self promotion was sticking to factual statements without any judgements or evaluations. The judgements others reach about me from the facts tend to be more positive than my judgements about myself, and factual statements are pretty hard to paint in a negative light.

The whole part after 8:30 is pure GOLD for introverts like me. I hate doing this. I feel like I would die if I'm doing this. Doing this feels harder than delivering the whole project working 16h per day for 3 months sprint. But still, you have to learn to do this, otherwise, nothing else matters.
