This is good enough to be named: Starter guide to running shoes. And again, as always, brilliantly put together.
16:16 I’ve had friends that ran in Nike metcons (CrossFit) shoes for a half marathon. Consequently they couldn’t walk for weeks.
After officially running for over 1.5 years, it's crazy how choosing the "right shoe" can make a huge difference in your experience. Having a shoe rotation is definitely a luxury, and it keeps the running experience different between tempo/recovery/speed/long runs that I think it's worth investing in 2 pairs of shoes if you want to keep things interesting for yourself. Also I have the Neo Vista with about 150 miles on them and I can't use them for anything outside of recovery/easy runs. I tried using it for tempo and faster sessions but it's too squishy for me that I prefer something like the Evo SL
I love how Ben talks about things in his videos. Shows he is totally invested in the show/gel/shorts/whatever product he is talking about. I resumed running after 12 years and it's hard for my body but my grit and his videos are part of the relief package! Thank you Ben for sharing your expertise. Decade ago when I used to run, it was such a simple time. pull up shorts, put on shoes ad go run. Now it's wait what to wear when to wear how to run and gel times and oh my
There's any sleeping shoes?
Did Chicago and NYC Marathons in Superblast 2 and they performed brilliantly keeping my feet and legs pain free. Definitely agree on carbon plated shoes not being the best for 5 plus hrs
Been following the channel for two years but still kinda feel like a newbie cause of how rapidly the industry changes.
This is by far the best video for explaining running shoes.
I've been following your videos for a while and I really appreciate not only the content but also the way you present it. I don’t run due to joint and bone concerns, but I’ve incorporated ''race walking'' into my routine (recreationally, not athletically). My typical routes are 12–15 km at an average pace of 7.5–8 km/h, and I do this several times a week purely for fitness and health. I’m looking forward to a video with recommendations for the best shoes for ''race walking''. Recently, I bought the ASICS Novablast 5 and I’m very happy with the comfort and fit, but if possible, I’d love a pair that’s just slightly firmer. Thanks in advance for your upcoming content, and all the best!
thank you so much, its so tricky getting into this hobby without people like yourself
