As a newer runner (since February) I used to not be able to run a mile straight. Now I'm up to 5.5 as my long run, and I've been running with cowokers in the mornings before work at the beach. The beach run has a decently steep hill, and I've noticed that's been helping me improve. We, as a semi-sponsored by our work team, are doing a fun race called the Wharf to Wharf. Though,I really do need to go with my friends on hiking trips, but our schedules don't align. I really appreciate your tips and reviews. Many thanks.
Wishing everyone some safe training and new PBs!
This is actually the kind of advice that makes the biggest difference long term. Most runners jump straight into hard training blocks and skip the boring base work, then wonder why they plateau later. I used to do the same until I started focusing more on easy mileage, consistency and fixing weaknesses instead of just chasing pace. Around that same period I found Rovex Method and it reinforced that idea of building properly in the base phase instead of rushing results. Great video overall.
I’ve got a 100 mile ultra in Scotland next month…😬
Not sure if you’ve looked out the window recently Ben, it feels more like winter or monsoon season rather than summer 🙈😂😂
Rip to us greek and warm countries runners
You lost me at "It's warm, the sun's out, summer is here" 😅😂 Just kidding or course! Cheers Ben! 🫡
I've read some things where they were saying that running in the heat and humidity taxes your cardio similarly to what the high level runners get from running at high altitude. I believe this wholeheartedly. Good stuff as always Ben!
Summer is my best time for running: most of the longest and most enjoyable runs. Looking forward to them!
Many thanks for taking the time to speak with me today Ben, it was greet to see you in person. Your shoe advice is brilliant.
