What isn't discussed much is the cost of maintaining a home. Its getting more and more expensive to have everything from fences to roofs put in. A lot of people think its just about the mortgage but owning a home goes way beyond that and I think its what puts people in debt.

Very VERY rarely have I been in a rental where I didn’t have to bring my own washer/dryer (if in-unit hookups existed). Most landlords either want you to use the ancient coin operated ones they provide in a dark basement or don’t want the added expense of having to service a washer/dryer… also, who are these idiots that are getting adjustable rate mortgages? Have we learned nothing since 2008?

Increase taxes on corporate owned homes. Incrementally increased them for each additional home you own beyond your homestead.

The interest rates should never have been made so low for so long. We have to pay the piper for the past 14 years of artificial prosperity
