Men and women are different. If they aren't, let's just have one league for all sports. Also, men and women think differently. Hormones, neurotransmitters, and brain connectome show that. It's odd how people are trying to deny reality.
Because we're going forward with emotions, not logic.
9:45 I think a huge problem with that conclusion is that people tend to conflate xenophobia and racism. Xenophobia has been a great tool for survival through unity and our affinity for visual difference very likely stems from that. It's why we have stereotypes that pretty clearly identify people from different regions (noses, eyes, lips, facial hair, etc.). It's simply that skin colour happens to be the most obvious of these observed differences.

At the end of the talk you were both bizarrely close to just describing the movie GATTACA. It even has a scene where a guy has to hide his myopia (proof of bad genes and lack of embryo selection by his parents) and nearly runs into traffic. If anyone reading this hasn’t seen it yet but is interested in the potential societal impacts of embryo selection/large scale genetic screening, it is a fascinating movie.
6:44 I have literally been saying this same thing. We want grandchildren not just children. Its a different focus.
An incredibly interesting conversation. Thank you
1:24:20 LMAO. I made such argument like 5 years ago to my buddy and I was basically named naz.. uhh. bad guy from WWII. At least Im not thinking that alone, great
The most interesting conversation here, IMHO, would be a conversation between Steve Stewart-Williams and Bret Weinstein, perhaps mediated by Mr. Williamson here. 1:28:20 - Bret Weinstein has proposed a mechanism for this that he calls "lineage selection" in which there is selection for traits that benefit their offspring or the offspring of those closely related to them in the far future. I'm not sure if it's powerful enough to create the effects Chris proposes, but it's an interesting idea.
So glad I found your podcasts. I’m sharing to those who would appreciate. This one was excellent! Thank you.
