How Male Feminists Ruined It For Everyone - Louise Perry & Mary Harrington
Analyzing the Performative Male Archetype and Its Effects on Dating
Analyze the rise of the "performative male" archetype, examining its aesthetic characteristics and downstream effects on heterosexual mating markets.
Short Summary
- Define the aesthetic markers associated with the performative male (e.g., specific fashion, literature choices).
- Explore theories linking this presentation to post-#MeToo social anxiety regarding traditional aggression.
- Determine if this shift represents a new evolutionary fitness strategy for the knowledge class.
This discussion unpacks the performative male, contrasting this 'softer' presentation against historical archetypes and speculating on whether this aesthetic maximization of non-aggressiveness is adaptive in modern white-collar environments.

The problem is that a lot of guys get criticized no matter what mode they’re in. Pilates class? “Too sneaky.” The gym? “Too intense.” The bar? “Interrupting girls’ night.” Grocery store? “Randomly desperate.” The workplace? “Go talk to HR.” Dating apps? “Typical player.” Online entertainment? “Grow up and meet someone in real life!” Were running out of options here folks
I want this panel to be a court drama called "Mary, Perry & Chris" where you three just rule on cases of failed mating strategies.
We still blaming the men really?!
People are having less sex because both sexes have become off putting to each other
Another possibility is these men are just fitting into the culture they were raised and live in.
I think the main distinction from the guy who goes to Pilates and then hits on you - which shows active intention and action, this is more of a passive thing. He's signaling. He's reading "Here's why men should disappear" under a tree with his macha, in hopes to draw attention to himself passively.
whats a macher and labooboo????? i speak english, please help
The truth is social media and dating apps have ruined dating for any women who have them. They get 100x more attention from them than they would get in real life so they artificially raise their standards to damn near unattainable levels for 99% of humanity. That by itself is about 80% of the problem in itself everything else is a non factor in comparrison.
I had to Google what labubu was and glad I didn’t know.
