The scene of Boromir and Faramir after they retake Osgiliath absolutely should have stayed in the original cut. Not only does it show that Boromir was Gondor’s white knight, it also shows how much he and his brother genuinely loved each other. So you absolutely feel that heartbreak that Faramir feels at the end of that scene when we see him in present day.
Aragorn is used to living in the wilderness eating whatever he can catch so you can only imagine how terrible that stew must have been.
Did you know Vigo broke his toe when he kicked the helmet? Lol, standard LotR two towers post 😂
I love when Aragorn tells Éowyn that he’s actually 87 YEARS OLD! For me, it explains why he has so many connections throughout middle earth and why he’s such an amazing fighter, decades, and decades of experience
RIP Bernard Hill (aka Theoden). Such an incredible performance.
Legolas was 2,931 years old in this movie adaptation
In Eowyn's defense, Aragorn never said he was taken, whenever he talks about Arwen he says she is sailing away with her people, so as far as Eowyn knows he's single
"No parent should have to bury their own child" quote always hits me hardest. Two years ago we lost our grandson. He was autistic, and had heart issues. He was seventeen when he died. Seven months later we lost our younger daughter. Our 2023 was a bad year.
They took it out because it wouldn't have any context - but Galadriel gave Sam another gift besides the rope - a box of dirt from her garden. She recognized in Sam that he was a gardener who loved growing things, and gave him some of the dirt from her Elvish lands. There was also a seed from one of the big trees from Lothlorien in the box - the trees the Elves built their homes in, called "mallorn". When Sam got home in the book, he replanted trees and flowers and gardens, spreading the dirt all over the Shire, and planting the tree back home at Bag End - the only place in the whole world where a mallorn tree grows outside of the lands of the Elves. That's how much Galadriel respected him.
Denethor’s wife died in childbirth when delivering Faramir. Denethor never got over it.
