She never raises her voice. That is genuinely the most terrifying thing about Miranda.
Notice that Emily NEVER tries to sabotage Andy at any point in the movie. She takes over task Andy can’t handle and always makes sure she knows what is needed for a job. Emily may be rude but she isn’t a bad person.
"Where's that piece of paper I had in my hand yesterday?" That classic line keeps me hollering every time!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Let's see Nate work as a sous chef at a 3-starred Michelin restaurant in New York and believe me that he wouldve understood it.
Stanley Tucci is phenomenal in this movie, and I love that he met his wife on set (Emily Blunt’s sister) ♥️♥️♥️
Fun fact: On the first day of filming, Meryl Streep told Anne Hathaway, ‘I think you're perfect for the role and I'm so happy we're going to be working together.’ Then she paused and followed it with, ‘That's the last nice thing I'll say to you.’ and it was lmao so yeah, she’s the scariest woman in this movie and I love her for that. Also, she made me afraid of cerulean forever xD
The thing that hits me now about this movie is the fact Miranda is really preparing her for being out on the beat. I have a couple of friends who are journalists and you have to be incredibly detailed, quick, adaptable, and a little devious to handle just about everything you get assigned and to get the story before anybody else. How do these journalists get exclusive information before anybody else? That was that new Harry Potter book. These huge companies are cutthroat and Andy needed that kick in the ass.
Andy literally says at the very beginning she was out of options. If she didn't take that job she probably would resort to other jobs she would have hated while trying to work towards her dream job. The boyfriend is supposed to be a chef but is chillin' at 6am in the apartment and is home long before Andy. Chefs usually work like 10-14 hours so judging by that (and the fact that the dad had to give her money), Nate probably worked part time. So it felt like Andy was keeping them afloat then being criticized for her struggles.
There is an award ceremony where Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt are presenting an award and they jump back into character and then the camera cuts to Meryl Streep in the audience.
The way Meryl runs down the opening dialogue is ICONIC acting! She is HER ❤❤❤
