Description

Memory is highly volatile (Read-Write-Merge). A user says "I like Python" on Monday, and "Actually, I'm switching to Rust" on Friday. If you use a flat vector database, a traditional RAG will retrieve both statements equally and get confused. H-MEM (Memory RAG): NEW H-MEM solves this by using its Temporal-Semantic Tree. Memory requires understanding the exact relational topology of the user's life. NEW H-MEM extracts these entities into a Knowledge Graph, ensuring the RAG system can traverse explicit topological edges (multi-hop reasoning) rather than just guessing based on vector closeness. all rights w/ authors: H-MEM: A Novel Memory Mechanism for Evolving and Retrieving Agent Memory via a Hybrid Structure Jiawei Yu1, Yixiang Fang1βˆ— , Xilin Liu2, Yuchi Ma2 1The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen 2Huawei Cloud Computing Technologies CO., LTD. arXiv:2605.15701 #topology #time #airesearch #artificialintelligence #temporal

As I've said, a gated iterative memory/save progression is part of the key for a nex-gen model.

flat vectors for evolving memory was always a hack. temporal KG actually makes sense here. graph traversal overhead tho

I envisioned this exact thing at about 4:20am today. Of course smart folks have already formalized it, very cool.

I do more or less the same thing, if i understand correctly, but for a different use case. I combine a pre-loaded ontology into a knowledge graph, to enable both ontological search and semantic search, and also add timestamps to the proporties of the dates the data was published. Had to build some code myself to get it working in that combination though, because everything is handled by agents. Not sure if it's exactly the same, but isn't far off i think.

Makes sense. Temporal structure resolves contradictions flat retrieval misses. Compute cost of maintaining that topology at scale is the bottleneck. Lab results, production reality.

Since the release of Gemini Flash 3.5, I became convinced by your argument that AI is not heading toward AGI. But what is your opinion? When will we reach AGI? I’ve also heard that world models will be the solution but is that really a genuine solution?

Thats a good looking piece of broccoli you got there...

Rama’s colocation of compute and data store by red planet labs solves this in the most elegant scalable and fully compostable way. I’ve been building with it and it is incredible and in a completely different universe than these attempts to slap and glue structures and models together. One application is what I call a brain dump. I pull multiple files links images. Anything it’s fully cool collated with timestamps data and cross links with graph behavior.

Topological RAG temporary AI memory? Thats similar to video description of Energy Trees of varying colours and colour luminous seas during the time of Lucifer as the Morning Star, one of the glories which makes him obscessed with recognition, glory and control, being revived in tech ?
