People who don’t understand why someone would pretend to be poorer than they really are have never been around nepo kids. Edit: I think it’s because everyone likes to fit in and no one wants to be the odd one out. I’ve been around trust fund kids where everyone knew their family owns a billion $ business, but they’d never acknowledge it and even change subject when it came up. My guess is they feel over-defined by it. Most of them just want to be “peers” around other kids and build their own identity. The Hollywood stereotype that they go around telling everyone who their father is, is completely untrue in my experience. That’s like mid-level wealth behaviour. God tier generational wealth is generally quiet.
