I personally know two people who were on a GLP-1 and lost over 30% of their body weight. It's been over a year since they both reached their goal and are off it. They didn't gain the weight back and they're much healthier. They can move better, they're in less pain, better labs, better blood sugar level, and blood pressure. You have to change your lifestyle for it to work and last. You can't keep doing the same thing and expect a drug to do all the work.
I lost .2 lbs at a time (the smallest increment on my scale) over 3 years, adding up to 100 off. I’m glad everyday I did it without ozempic type drugs. Stopping drinking made it easier.
You haven’t answered what happens when you stop the drug because you can’t afford it
I used it, it made me sick with a low grade shingles and sick to my stomach but would do anything to solve my food addictoin I guess. I got off it due to an insurance change and resulting cost. I went full keto again and the appetite suppression was equal or stronger than the Weegovies. It did lower my A1C from 5.4 to like 4.9. It did teach me the food addiction is mental and I can repeat that on my own.
Would love to see you debate this with Dr. Berry.
This woman you speak of that is smart and disciplined has a weight problem? That makes zero sense.
I viewed this video because I was shocked by your change of mind. I figured that was a good time to stop and listen to you. You gave some solidly good reasons for your change of mind, you talked about the benefits, and you also talked about your concerns for possible drug side effects. You also helped me recognize and be thankful for the people who helped me develop dopamine channels outside of food. Choir, band, sports, scouting. It even made me thankful for the numerous times when, as an adult, I could only afford one meal a day and I learned to prioritize protein and green veg. Most of all, I appreciate your reminder that science involves changing your mind. A friend once told me "Never trust anyone who says they believe in science but then shuts down questioning science with the phrase, "It's settled science." There is no such thing as settled science."
The food noise is 100% gone, it's a miracle. Keto could get me closer to less madness... but it was never fully gone. Now it is. Had no clue how bad I was suffering with food noise. My ADHD is great now and my capacity for choosing health options is 100 fold. GLP1's will change American obesity. They are a miracle and I'd pay any amount for this relief.
I am 62 and tried to loose weight with intermittent and longer 36 hours fasting and lost very little weight. Finally, I am on GLP-1 and I see weight loss! I still fast and eat lots of protein. Also exercise and even my body improved a lot. So in my case I had to combine both: fasting and GLP-1. I would recommend to everyone who wants to lose weight.
I was on strict carnivore and lost 10 pounds and thst was it fasted, water intermittent did the whole thing. Went on Mounjaro lost 45 more pounds in 9 months doing keto. Came off of it a year ago. The weight has stayed off, quit biting my nails started a business all during mounjaro and the effects have remained.
