Identifying the True Root Cause of Chronic Disease for Effective Prevention

Stop treating symptoms; discover how rapid environmental changes mismatch your ancient genetics, causing chronic illness, and implement 20 targeted actions to address the true root cause today.

Short Summary

  • Medicine typically aims to label chronic symptoms and treat them with medications, often leading to counterproductive polypharmacy.
  • The core problem is that our genes have not evolved to cope with the modern environment of constant feeding, artificial light, and high toxin exposure.
  • Sterilization of food and environments stunts immune development, while ultra-processed diets cause epidemic nutrient deficiencies, notably Vitamin D.
  • To prevent disease, you must actively align your daily habits—diet, light exposure, and activity—with ancestral patterns.
  • This guide provides 20 specific, actionable steps to reset lifestyle routines and mitigate genetic predispositions for conditions like diabetes and autoimmune disorders.

Description

Could the root cause of chronic diseases like type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension really be the same? In this video, I’ll show you how to prevent chronic illness by effectively addressing the root cause, rather than just the symptom. Then, explain how these same genes may create a mismatch with modern diets and environments. For each, show practical consequences and strategies to thrive today.” 0:00 Introduction: The #1 root cause of chronic disease 0:20 Medicine ignores the root cause of health problems 1:23 What causes chronic disease? 4:45 Genetics and chronic disease 10:16 Tips for chronic disease prevention Medicine aims to label a disease and treat the symptoms with medication. Medication comes with side effects, which are then treated with more medication. Focusing on the root cause of health problems could help avoid numerous issues. The average adult consumes over 50% of their calories from ultra-processed foods. Food is readily available, we’re constantly looking at screens, and we’re exposed to toxins like never before. Sterilized food and environments have caused underdeveloped immune systems and epidemic-level nutrient deficiencies. Genetics plays a role in disease and immunity, but there’s more to it. Genetics can provide clues about potential health issues we may encounter if our diet and environment are not quite right. Try these chronic disease prevention tips to overcome genetic predispositions and address the root cause of your health problem: 1. Go outside for sun exposure within 60 minutes of waking up. 2. Dim the lights 90 minutes before you go to bed. 3. Keep your bedtime and wake time consistent. 4. Work out regularly on a consistent schedule. 5. No eating 4 hours before bed. 6. Eat during a 6 to 8-hour window. 7. Go on a 10 to 15-minute walk after eating. 8. Consume something fermented with every meal. 9. Spend time in nature at least 3 times per week. 10. Put your hands in the soil. 11. Use an air purifier in the house. 12. Use a water filter or drink mineral water. 13. Use fragrance-free hair and skin care. 14. Use stainless steel or chemical-free cookware. 15. Don’t keep ultra-processed foods in the house. 16. Limit eating out at restaurants. 17. Use a sauna/hot shower/cold bath regularly. 18. Try nasal breathing for sleep and stress relief. 19. Take hourly breaks from the computer. 20. Try using white noise for sleep. The part about ultra processed foods and lack of sunlight got me. It’s like we’ve designed our lifestyles to make us sick.

Crazy how everything seems to trace back to inflammation or stress in the end. Makes you realize how much lifestyle really matters.

My dad was on 8 meds and we'll overweight. He had a strike and is in a home. For 4 years my sister had him in Iowa, and his health got worse and it cost 10k a month. 2 uears ago he moved to Mexico with me. We now pay 3k a month and his weight is down to a good weight. We took him off 6 meds and his blood pressure and blood sugar are both perfect now. Something he has not seen for years. All because of a change of diet and environment. We live by the ocean and have fresh air, healthy water.

When I was young we were always outside. Riding bicycles, camping in the woods or going fishing and swimming. My dad was a hunter and we always had wild game on the table that was cooked in lard. Now going to the same neighborhood not one kid is outside, now the kids are all indoors playing on computers or Playstation for hours at a time. Sad.

When my SIL took her child to nursery for the first time the teacher asked for "her list". Apparently every other child attending that day had a list of can't wear, can't eat, can't drink, can't touch, etc. My SIL said "Don't let the child play in traffic, don't let the child eat worms, other than that let the child do whatever she wants". Healthiest child in nursery.

This is one of the most insightful explanations I’ve seen about chronic disease. The real root cause isn’t our genes, but how our modern lifestyle conflicts with the human body’s natural design. We eat non-stop, live under artificial light, rarely see the sun, and fill our bodies with ultra-processed foods, toxins, and seed oils—while our immune systems weaken in sterile environments. Medicine focuses on late-stage symptoms instead of prevention, leaving people on multiple drugs for life. The real cure is not another pill but returning to nature: real food, natural light, proper sleep, fasting, movement, clean air and water, and a stronger connection to the environment that shaped us.
