Let’s talk about why it’s so difficult for women to lose belly fat after menopause—and what to do about this issue. When a woman goes through menopause, their ovaries no longer produce or release eggs. This big change leads to a cascade of other changes. The ovaries also make hormones, which means a woman in menopause will have lower hormone levels. However, when this happens, the adrenal glands are supposed to act as the backup system for the ovaries. The adrenal glands make all of the hormones that the ovaries make. If the adrenal glands are strong and stable when a woman is going into menopause, they may experience fewer symptoms. It’s not normal to experience symptoms of menopause unless there’s a problem with the adrenal glands. Another part of the body we need to focus on is the parasympathetic nervous system. The parasympathetic nervous system is the recovery system of the body. It influences your sleep and ability to recover. Fat burning occurs in the recovery phase. Exercising your parasympathetic nervous system will help reduce cortisol, support sleep, and get rid of belly fat. In order to strengthen your parasympathetic nervous system, it’s crucial to increase the time you rest in between your reps and sets of exercise, as well as the days of exercise. You have to make sure you don’t overtrain and give your body a chance to completely recover and reset. How to lose belly fat after menopause: 1. Do high-intensity exercises with longer rest periods 2. Don’t overtrain 3. Don’t train over soreness 4. Focus on getting more sleep 5. Take advantage of chiropractic care, massage therapy, or physical therapy 6. Consume omega-3 fatty acids 7. Take DHEA 8. Go on a low-carb diet with intermittent fasting 9. Get plenty of magnesium, choline, vitamin B1, and vitamin D 10. Try lemon balm, passionflower, or ashwagandha Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, age 58, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis and intermittent fasting. Women of menopausal age are also the ones taking care of elderly parents, it is a MASSIVE STRESSOR that goes on for years and years. I’ve got no solution for that stress. It’s always the female sibling being the caretaker & it almost always falls on the shoulders of one poor soul even in a family with multiple children.

My mother is 90 and looks 20 years younger. She lives alone and does everything by herself. She never did any formal exercise but walks everywhere and carries heavy groceries home. ( Doesn’t drive). She ate healthy and never any fast food or junk food. She’s about 4’10 and weighs about 100 lbs. She eats 3 healthy meals a day and no snacks.

When I cut out the carbs and sugar I lost belly fat fast. I'm 53. You can lose belly fat by eating clean healthy food and going for a fast 2 mile walk everyday.

Why do all the women working out in this video look about 25 when we are talking about menopausal women?

OMG! I have been in perimenapause for 5 years and finally hit menapause last year. I gained a full size around my midsection. I have been working out like a crazy person! That always kept me slim. Not anymore. I've even gained more weight! This video makes sense and I dont understand why more doctors dont tell you the truth! They want to push HRT. I started estradiol 2 months ago and Im sleeping better but the weight is not coming off. I've wanted to pull my hair out and never felt so awful and less sexy in my life. Im going to put all of these steps into action and see if the inches fall off around my waist. I just want my body back! Aging for women is a cruel joke! I hope this video is life changing! 🙏

It’s not just belly fat—it’s years of stress, hormonal shifts, and silent battles most people never see. 💔 This video finally explained what so many women over 40 feel but can’t put into words. It’s not laziness… it’s biology. On my Forever After 40 journey, I’ve seen how healing begins with understanding. Thank you for shedding light on what we’ve been silently carrying.

This is the best advice ever. I know it being 55. Tried to go jogging for an hour 2 times a week. Only got bigger. Long walks instead every day. Got skinnier.
