Also in Consumer reports says that Bmw is on top 5 most reliable brands while Mercedes is 19th place.
Today's vehicles aren't built to last past the warranty, they are all built to break
BMW has better reliability and driving experience. No offense to Mercedes Benz, but the BMW I think is better. Me personally I would rather go a Jaguar as it offers a driving experience similar to BMW, but it’s something different than the normal German luxury vehicles.
Reliability isn’t the issue here, maintenance costs are.
I have in the past...and still do...own both brands at any given time. With regular maintenance and good driving, I have never had any untoward problems with either. I think so many people expect an expensive car to take care of itself and overlook things that are preventive when it comes to their cars. To be honest...over the years...the only car that I bought new that gave me a problem was a 1993 Chrysler Concorde...and that was my mistake in judgment. For 2027, I will be purchasing an X6 and a GLS. I purchase cars because I love to drive...not because someone I don't know recommends that I don't. To be clear...I totally love your site and watch regularly but I take issue with this kind of overly generalized advice to a stranger.✌
