The width of the rangers' bed instantly makes it more useful as a truck. When the 6cyl becomes available, that should further extend its superiority over the other options. As far as trucks that do truck things, I'll pick the Ranger.
Almost no one makes a video about base models. Thank you!!
Good thing you didn't have to turn that locker on in the Tacoma because everybody knows that the lockers in a tacoma are a pain in the ass 😅. And yes I own a Tacoma.
Emme, You're the best for off road reviews and information. Have you done off road training videos for Edmunds or elsewhere?
Nice test. Positiv surprised Emme chose the Colorado. So would I out of those. Negative surprised you didn't add the Frontier to that bunch. That would have been my no. 1 choice.
Are these trucks off-road-y enough for you, or would you spend extra bucks for a ZR2, Raptor or TRD Pro? Let us know in the comments!
During the off-road test drive, it would have been better to show more of the outside view when you were handling the trucks rather than the inside view. I don't mind seeing the driver's reaction, but I was more interested in the truck's reactions rather than the driver's on the turns.
2024 Colorado Trail Boss here. Very off-road capable, this thing has surprised me so far. I really like auto 4x4 and the auto g80 locker.
I took the Ranger pill and picked up a '25 Lariat FX4 with the TT 2.7. AAaaaand I'm loving it. No hard offroad, just very regular back country service roads with the occasional mild trail. The 2.7 was worth the 2250 extra %100 no question. So smooth and powerful. I don't need to wring it's neck to get an ounce of work out of it.
Have a 2023 Ford Ranger FX4 package 68,000 Mi on it I've had it for two and a half years and it has been a beast it had been all over Colorado Utah Wyoming Arizona and New Mexico and it is surprised as s*** out of me. Absolutely zero problems with it only mod is I put a 2-inch leveling kit on it and Raptor size tires. Plus it's light enough to tow behind my motorhome and it pulls my Jeep back and forth between Texas for several thousand miles absolutely love this truck. Plus I just did this summer black bear pass and Imogene and engineer pass in Colorado and it blew through there with flying colors
