9:33 "we might have some complaints, but reliability and maintenance is not one of them" Meanwhile Edmunds longterm Jeep Grand Cherokee, everything went wrong and it broke down and had to be town away
The reason it commands so much on the used market is because it is produced in very limited numbers intentionally and the dealers were marking them up $10k plus. I’m not sure how Edmunds was able to buy one at $72k unless they got preferential treatment by being Edmunds, because no way in LA could a regular person get one at that price. Edmunds did not have a problem with the hood wobbling at speed?
Yikes that door closing sound at 6:11….
We tested our Lexus GX 550 Overtrail for 22,000 miles on dirt, rocks and just a bit of pavement and found it could conquer all. After one year of ownership, the GX's resale value only dropped $4,000. Are you surprised? Let us know in the comments below!
My gx460 has been zero problems. I hope the same for the gx 550
I bought the ‘23 GX 460, the last year of the V8 for that reason. It was also over 10k cheaper, and the resale for ‘23 V8 will always be there. I also bought the ‘21 Toyota Tundra, the last year of its V8. I’ve always bought a vehicle by its engine. I just sold my ‘93 Dodge 5.9 Cummins for what I paid for it, 35 years later.
I was about to say, this thing has been holding value like nothing else in its class
This feels a lot more like a support ad than a year-in-review…like an opportunity to help Lexus out by addressing every single question mark that this car has - in order - by finding a different face to say “I actually loved this exact thing about this vehicle” or “the thing that people complain about was never an issue for me in exactly the same circumstances that it has been complained about”. This video should probably have been rounded out by the guy whose videos this one keeps calling back to.
Great vid
6:57 “as someone outside the target audience the GX is not for me” Some riveting analysis here.
