Lexus GX vs. Lexus LX: Battle of the Big Lexus Off-Roaders

I test drove both and purchased the LX700h OT a couple of months ago. Previous vehicle was a 3rd generation Sequoia. So far happy with my decision.

We own the GX 550 and love it. Not much off roading in SE Florida. Chose the Premium Plus which has the ceiling air vents and third row. Also have Captains chairs in second row. Getting an average mpg of 20. This truck has plenty of power and handles well.

The Lexus GX and LX provide plenty of off-road capability at the top of the brand's lineup, in a very similar form factor. That makes the big difference in price harder to stomach, but if you can make a case for the LX we'd love to hear it in the comments below!

I wish the LX would be styled more like the GX but with a raised tiered roof and more rugged luxury interior … then give us a sequoia Lexus based vehicle that is all about family comfort

What about the fact that the LX700H is based on a high duty cycle LC300 instead of the shorter duty cycle Prado 250? That is probably worth something if you are keeping the vehicle long term ?

Lucky to have more choice in Australia. GX550, LX500d, LX600, LX700h, Landcruiser 300, Prado.

You could pay a bit more and get the gx OT+. By doing that, you get the same massage seats and rear seat heating.

The nav is free for 3 years. There is a way to use more of the screen

I don’t understand why the reviewers make comments about how tight the backseat is but never actually show multiple people in the seats. You obviously have enough people on staff to give a good visual of how well these might work as a rugged family vehicle so why not just show us?
