Description

Can the new Cadillac Optiq-V dethrone the Genesis GV60 Performance as one of our favorite sporty small luxury EVs? We hook up our testing gear to compare 0-60 mph times, handling, and real-world range in this electric SUV comparison! Run a VIN check or license plate search to uncover maintenance history, open recalls, and title statuses before you buy at http://bumper.com/edmunds Cadillac Optiq Edmunds Review - https://www.edmunds.com/cadillac/optiq/?utm_campaign=video_description&utm_source=youtube Genesis GV60 Edmunds Review - https://www.edmunds.com/genesis/gv60/?utm_campaign=video_description&utm_source=youtube More Edmunds Comparison Videos - https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLsSQoIGhBLpQwAPiW1fCPh4LEWxlbp9Cx&si=txPMgUEIULWxATGq Appraisal Tool - https://www.edmunds.com/appraisal/?utm_campaign=video_description&utm_source=youtube Car Listings - https://www.edmunds.com/new-cars-for-sale/?utm_campaign=video_description&utm_source=youtube Ratings and Reviews - https://www.edmunds.com/car-reviews/?utm_campaign=video_description&utm_source=youtube 00:00 Intro 00:24 The Numbers 04:35 Driving Impressions 10:01 Interior, Tech, & Storage 13:50 Edmunds' Take The battle for the top spot in the luxury electric SUV space is heating up, and we brought two heavy hitters to the Edmunds test track for a full comparison. In one corner, we have the 2026 Genesis GV60 Performance, boasting an aggressive Boost mode that bumps output to 483 horsepower. In the other corner stands the all-new 2026 Cadillac Optiq-V, packing 519 hp and summer tires ready to grip the road. When it comes to raw acceleration, the Cadillac Optiq-V takes the crown for the 0-60 mph sprint, clocking in at an impressive 3.7 seconds compared to the Genesis GV60's 4.0 seconds flat. However, the GV60 Performance pulls ahead in the quarter mile, finishing in 12.3 seconds at 109.9 mph. The Optiq-V shines in handling and stopping, pulling 0.91 lateral g on the skidpad and coming to a halt from 60-0 mph in just 107 feet—16 feet shorter than the GV60. Away from the track, both of these EV SUVs proved their worth in the real world. On the Edmunds EV Range test, the Cadillac edged out the Genesis slightly, covering 281 miles compared to the GV60's 279 miles. The Genesis, however, wins points for its faster 800-volt charging architecture and better overall efficiency. So, which luxury EV deserves your driveway space? Picking between these two is tough. The Cadillac Optiq-V delivers better track numbers, a brilliant hands-free driving system, and a larger cargo area for daily tasks. Meanwhile, the Genesis GV60 is simply more fun to throw around corners and has a slightly lower starting price of $74,020. Check out the full review to see which luxury SUV takes the win! These two luxury SUVs can do it all, offering comfortable and well-appointed cabins, along with plenty of power and acceleration to have some fun behind the wheel. But which part appeals to you more: the performance or the luxury? Let us know in the comments below!

Having owned a 2023 Genesis GV60 Performance, I loved the car, but I didn't enjoy the 8 recalls and the continually broken AC, and the weeks in the shop. I traded it for a 2026 Cadillac Vistiq, and with 10k miles on the clock, it's just way more reliable and service is just better overall.

Love that they round the Genesis's 4903 lbs to 5k but when they compare it to the 5500 lbs of the caddie it's a 500lb difference. Details!

Wait for the Genesis GV60 Magma💪💪⚡⚡ that will be proper hoot🤟. I definitely think that Genesis overall as a brand is so underrated and missed by bigger market. Great video keep it up, and can't wait for proper test of the Hyundai Ioniq 6N

That "a hair under 5000 lbs" should've been "a hair OVER 4900 lbs".

I like the Genesis, but does it have the NACS port? Does it have the ICCU issues like Hyundai and Kia EVs? Trunk space is important, but he didn't touch on.

Hoping you get your hands on a GV60 Magma when they're available.
