Eli this is a bit more of a fun topic China has developed commercial underwater data centres ... who needs space data centres from Space-x when china is already doing sea based ones that uses zero freshwater, cuts land usage by over 90%, reduces overall electricity consumption by roughly 22.8%, and lowers cooling expenses by more than 80% sounds like another Chinese win to me 😂

Chinese politicians tend to be engineers or STEM graduates, while American politicians are often lawyers at most.

China moves a little bit day by day on everything because it is a developing country. It's proud of that too.

China is catching up? They caught up and passed us already. US isn't even much of a competitor anymore because we celebrate and glorify tech bros, the wealthy, and entertainment stars. We are so divided as a culture. Our political Leaders actively work against us and set us back constantly.

The Ars Technica subtitle is weirdly worded. “They clearly admire the work being done by SpaceX…” China just wants cheap launch. “Admiring” SpaceX has nothing to do with it. Especially when the Chinese approach is different in important ways.
