i developed a sudden interest in gardening and this channel is keeping me more and more hooked
I am 11 I have chickens and I have a whole vegetable garden your channel helped me out so much I am such a big fan 💗
TIP here: "as soon as soil is workable" is referring to climates with real winter, here in zone 4a we get -40°C/F and our soil actually freezes solid 6" or more on the surface (not workable) you have to wait until that thaws then you can plant things like your peas and carrots (cool weather crops)
14:49 I had an entire tray of cilantro with 3 seeds in each fail. Or so I thought. I reused the soil for up potting and filling in other garden areas. Now I have cilantro seedlings everywhere. Not complaining though!
Re: copper against slugs. I've tried that. Gave up when i came out one morning to see two of the slimey things happily slugging their way over it 😳. I've had success just getting out there early enough to catch them with a pokey stick or scissors and help the birds out. It's less gross if you picture them eating all your lettuce 😂

Re: the “leggy seeds” question. One more thing I’d add is that if this is a windowsill situation for the natural light perhaps the windows have a UV filter. Definitely something you’ll want to know if you’re trying to start seeds in the sill
I love this format of video, the Q&A thing. Please do a few more of these per season. They don't have to be themed! How about a random question Q&A session? Hell, they hardly have to be useful (but I know you will make them useful anyway). The strangest questions, the non-sensical questions, angry questions, questions that aren't really questions. Your opportunities are endless!
I have grown from seed: bay leaf, mountain laurel tree, papaya, peach, loofah, blue bonnets, red yucca.
Kevin should name his potato Eric
