My bigger concern with nostalgia is that we’re not giving the younger generation their own original franchises to enjoy and make their own.
I believe Ryan Reynolds saying Hugh Jackman would be playing Wolverine until he's 90 is pretty accurate when you look over at Patrick Stewart playingJean-Luc Picard well into his 80s and Professor X
"Franchise Fatigue" is a great phrase for it
T2 Trainspotting described it the best. When Sick Boy says "Nostalgia, that's why you're here. You're a tourist in your own youth"
Spaceballs 2 is the nostalgia bait I crave! The search for more money! 38 years in the making baby!
For the algorithm! Your channel has really grown from short, cool spoilers of the ending of movies. Now the channel has fantastic current and historical show and movie longform breakdowns. All I kept thinking of during this video is the Time Machine episode of Mad Men.
Understanding that smaller budgets is required for new things rather than expecting a billion from a new franchise. Let it Grow

Coming from someone with PTSD, the past can be very anxiety inducing as well. 😁 Wish you the best!
If Star Wars had stopped after The Last Jedi we’d never have gotten Andor. But the points made in the video still apply. Andor is phenomenal because it wasn’t driven by nostalgia. It was a creative team and a show runner with an ear for great storytelling who were given unprecedented freedom. It stands out because it’s such an anomaly in how big budget projects get made these days. I wish it was the rule rather than the exception.
