Description

In this Huberman Lab Essentials episode, I explain how specific hormones influence both energy levels and the immune system and discuss practical tools for increasing energy throughout the day and managing stress. I discuss the mechanism through which cortisol and epinephrine (adrenaline) impact the brain and body and why it’s important to regulate their levels, considering factors like time of day or stress levels. I also cover the positive benefits of short-term stress and behavioral protocols to increase energy and enhance stress resilience. Additionally, I explain how to optimize hormone levels through tools like sunlight exposure, meal timing, and supplements such as ashwagandha. Makes sense as why I rarely get sick. I do a morning walk almost every day to get some sun . Run 100 + miles a month and usually only eat between 11am-6pm. Also go to bed 10pm-10:30 at the latest 😊

Hai Andrew, Deepak here from India. I’m really grateful for your podcast on improving immunity and energy levels. Since listening to it, I’ve started walking in the mornings and getting at least 30 minutes of sunlight for Vitamin D. I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my immune system—even though I recently caught a cold during the summer, I recovered faster. My energy levels have also increased! Thank you for sharing such valuable insights.

Suggestion for future podcast: effects of singing (including playing music) and chanting on overall health and biochemistry. Love your work!
