My grandmother has died totally autonomous at age 104 in Barcelona eating a pure Mediterranean diet with lots of local olive oil and red wine. She didn't eat any processed food.
Everything he said is true ! In greece we eat a lot of meat and cheeses but olive oil we don't trust the big olive oil companies and allways buy from a small producer we know about . Just you sould know a lot of vegan restaurants have gone out of business in greece.
Seed Oil Kills. ('nuff said)
My test for EVOO -- pour a small amount into a cup and put it in the fridge. It should go completely solid, like soft butter. Perhaps not a definitive test, it will weed out the fakes. Also, I use canola oil on some steel tools to inhibit rust and as bar oil for my chainsaw since it's inexpensive and works fine.
Dr Gary Fettke and his wife Belinda are both great in this health space.
Saw the documentary about blue zones. They toured the Mediterranean places, supposedly isolated islands without trade ports and interviewed shepherds. Hundreds of sheep and goats on hills in the background, chickens running around, fishing boats on the shore. Then they tried to say the people ate mostly vegetarian? I doubt those hundreds of sheep were pets. The population was probably 1 person per 50 sheep minimum and they weren’t exporting them.
I was told in America regulations say only 51% of a bottle needs to be olive oil to lable it as olive oil.
Thank God Dr Fettke says what the Mediterranean diet really is! In the past it has always been like that; unfortunately, today it is too westernised.

I'm part of a group that's been doing our own thing for 10+ years. We get much of our food directly from farmers, gardeners, hunters, and people who raise their own poultry. It requires more effort, more discipline, and staying more organized. We seek out unheated unadulterated milk, eggs, butter, & yogurt. Beef tallow, pork fat, duck fat. Animal knuckles for making broth. Organs, poultry parts, chops, steaks, & ground meat from wild or pastured animals. We're also eating organic lentils, beans, & raw nuts that are soaked & sprouted. Also eating organic avocados, berries, greens, garlic, & ginger. Also eating cod livers, oysters, & small mackerel that we buy online. We use high-mineral sea salt & basic spices for flavoring. Mostly drinking filtered water, tea, & homemade soup. We try our best to stop eating earlier in the day and we try our best to get to bed earlier. Many of us got rid of our televisions a while ago. We try our best to use glass containers instead of plastic. We stay away from sugar, grains, coffee, soda, alcohol, vegetable oils, seed oils, candies, desserts, commercial dressings, and all restaurants. Our bodies and minds have adjusted to this reality. We have normal occasional mental cravings for garbage foods. Our approach ends up being generally affordable because we removed spending for overpriced alcohol, overpriced grain products, overpriced sugar treats, and overpriced restaurant meals. Consistent reports of improved sleep. Improved skin. Improved energy & mood. Improved teeth & gums. Each of us has eventually phased out all of our so-called "medications". Each of us has lost weight. In my experience, once a person starts using good animal fats for cooking and for flavoring their foods that person will tend to naturally lose interest in using olive oil any more. Also there are many fake olive oils with intentionally misleading marketing.
