Hank transformation I feel is a bit underrated in the context of the whole show. He goes from absolutely obnoxious, to having good moments and awful moments, to basically dying a hero. I still hate him for using Jesse as bait and when Steve asks him what if something goes wrong he goes "that would be bad... anyway" lol. He totally didn't care that he put Jesse in mortal danger.
Hank's PTSD after the El Paso experience was beautifully rendered: it almost made me forget what an irritating, obnoxious jerk he sometimes was. Dean Norris did a pretty amazing job portraying the facade of macho bravado shattering into a thousand pieces!
This video perfectly sums up why Walt knew that false confession tape would've been effective
Side Note: Credit to Dean Norris for his facial acting. His expressions, limited as they are due to Hank not being very open emotionally, are great at selling how Hank is feeling moment to moment. Especially when he goes to beat up Jessie.
i really love that this channel hasn't moved on from the Breaking Bad universe either. just like me fr
I don't think Hank's decision to go after Walt was selfless. Yes, you could think of it in terms of him doing the right thing vs. preserving his career, but Hank is ENRAGED by Walt having been playing him for years on end. My thinking is that when Hank finds out who Walt really is, he feels utterly emasculated, and putting Walt away is all he can do to get his pride back.
They're morals Marie! Jesus Christ!
For anyone wondering about the Hank Cheating Scene... it's from a 2009 Minisode. Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRy6j4ZErjk&t=5s
I think one of Hanks biggest mistakes was going to the School to ask Walt about the Mask and missing Chemicals Had anyone other than Hank gone. Walter would've seemed very shady. Instead Hank went and looked around. Cracked a Joke, then left after not finding much
In my eyes what sets him apart from the other people in Walters circle, is that he doesn't change as a result of exposure to his actions. Yes he was always a flawed individual, but he remained true to his values, while everybody else allowed Walter to make them a worse person.
