I’m no expert but I think probably most serial killers are hypocrites
The fact that "Don't get caught" is number 1 kinda allows Dexter to kill when he thinks he is caught even if it's somebody innocent
6:07 Most of Miami Metro's supposed incompetence was because Dexter was messing with cases to kill criminals before the cops could catch them. Half the reason Trinity killed Rita is because Dexter framed Stan Beaudry as Trinity so he could kill Arthur Mitchell the actual Trinity himself.
some people miss it while watching the show but Dexter is *Actually* a Bad guy. Shocking, I know.
Not defending Dexter, but Doakes was also killing people extrajudicially. The only moral high ground he had was that he didnt get off on killing people.
I feel like dexters pride is his biggest weakness It’s what often leads him to break his code and is a source for all his hypocrisy it’s also what lead to Rita’s death and him nearly dying in season 6 he has a need to be the one to deliver justice even if it goes against his prior actions
If you want more Dexter content, don't forget to like the video and leave a comment
That kill in the bathroom was just insanely stupid, no consequences, the show just had that insane scene fully breaking the code for 5 minutes and nothing came of it
I think the true villain of Dexter is Harry. He took a traumatized child and stoked the darkness inside of him to punish the bad guys in ways he couldn't as a cop.
He fudges, his blood spatter reports to let the killers go free. Now the victim's family never receive closure, or thinks the person is still out there. Leaving families living in fear and unable to move on. Now that's messed up.
