🇵🇭 Philippines Street Food in CDO: https://youtu.be/nwToqbn51fQ&list=PLeoy0zUu6bqlZ7UM-za0A18qOCOobktjx&index=1 👉 SUBSCRIBE for more: https://www.youtube.com/@MarkWiens 👕 T-shirts: https://store.migrationology.com/ In this ultimate Philippines food documentary, we’re traveling across the lesser visited southern island of Mindanao in search of the best local food. From the busy street food stalls of Cagayan De Oro to the rich culture of Marawi City, the unique Filipino food in Zamboanga, and the tuna of Davao City and General Santos City, this is going to be an unforgettable journey into Filipino food. Huge thank you to Chui: @TheChuiShow For helping to arrange this entire trip! Cagayan De Oro - Our food tour starts in the busy city of Cagayan de Oro, known locally as CDO. The market is full of delicious Filipino street food and friendly people. We’ll try a local stall famous for their humba, and get a taste of delicious Halal Maranao food. Next we’re trying the raw marinated fish (kinilaw) and tasting a powerful unforgettable soup! Marawi City - Marawi City is home to the Maranao People, an ethnic people group native to this region of Mindanao. Their food is outstanding, some of the best food I’ve had in the Philippines - loaded with spices and fresh herbs. Zamboanga City - From Marawi City, we made our way, continuing with our ultimate Philippines street food tour to Zamboanga City, one of the most unique and fascinating cities in the Philippines with its mix of Spanish cultures. The food is outstanding as you would expect, with a mix of local Sulu island flavors and dishes like huge crabs in Alavar sauce - which you don’t want to miss. General Santos City - Next up we head to General Santos City, the tuna capital of the Philippines and home to Manny Pacquiao! We visited the tuna auction, which is incredible to see, tried some local balbacua, ate at Manny Pacquiao’s favorite local spot, and then had one of the greatest tuna and marlin bbq meals ever. Davao City - It would not be a complete Philippines street food tour in Mindanao without going to Davao City, the capital and biggest city in Mindanao. Their soups are incredible and we tried a huge variety of some of the tastiest and most legendary Filipino food. Also a highlight is Davao durian, and if you love durian, welcome to durian paradise! A huge thank you to all my local friends in the Philippines for your amazing support and taking me around! Mark, I have been following your channel for years. This Filipino Food Tour has become one of my favorite productions. You showcase the deliciousness of the food with every stop but we get blessed by the greatness, the humbleness of the people. You are amazing. WOW!

I’m not usually the type of person to comment on youtube videos but honestly I respect you ten times more after watching this video. A lot of main stream tourists and food bloggers come to the Philippines and yet you are the first person I’ve seen educate and talk about the misunderstanding and struggle of moro people and our food. This is cultural appreciation, and we appreciate you a lot.

The way you pronounce 'Maranao' sounds so natural and respectful, it really shows your genuine appreciation of the culture. Thank you so much for taking the time to visit Mindanao and for shining a light on the rich diversity of Filipino cuisine, especially our beloved Muslim Filipino dishes. It's heartwarming to see someone with your platform uplifting local traditions and giving voice to communities that are often overlooked. People like you truly deserve to grow even more in influence and followers. Keep doing what you do more power and thank you again Mark!

Thank you for your effort in making this footage. it's so many words and so many foods in the Philippines that are similar to and the same as those in Indonesia. Indonesia and the Philippines share ethnic and racial similarities because their ancestors were Austronesian people. The historical relationship between the two countries has been going on for 9 centuries.

One of the greatest hits from this channel , showing all the diverse and variety of Filipino food . I don’t think there’s anyone better that shows appreciation for culture’s cuisines.
