If your 10 year old son gets bored at school sometimes, that doesn't mean he has ADHD, it means he's a 10 year old boy.

I clicked on this video so fast. A friend of mine equated denying my child ADHD drugs with denying my child glasses. No, I don’t want my child on amphetamine based drugs for a multitude of reasons. I’m still pissed that she questioned my decision like that.

I got put on Adderall at age 10. But eventually the doctors told me "You've grown out of ADD" Which... How is that even possible for a "mental disorder"? So I was promptly taken off dextroamphetamine (Adderall) and left to live my adult life without any medications. They then put me on SSRIs because the withdrawal left me depressed. Long story short, I ended up a drug addict because of this. You cannot convince me it was anything else. I'm finally sober at the age of 36 but I still CAN'T F*CKING FOCUS AND THEY EXPECT ME TO SIMPLY BE A NORMAL PERSON NOW. Putting your kids on soft Meth WILL ruin their lives. Don't be fooled by sh*tty doctors who are paid by the pharma industry.

I loathe the word “meltdown”. In my day, (I’m 63—seven kids) we called it a tantrum and dealt with it accordingly.

Wow! Online schooling is soo lame that Isabella, a straight A student, would rather clean her room than do the work on her computer.

I gave up my "dream" of being a school teacher after serving in the USAF after taking a "mandatory" college class on "Classroom Management" Most of it was from a childless academic and she was instructing us (mostly older adults with "real-world" experiences) to "practice medicine without a medical degree or license," The class ought to have been retitled as "Coercion 101 to put kids on medications." (State of California, 2002) Normal boy behavior for example was to be MANAGED by medications. I was the parent of a boy that was active, and sometimes had trouble "settling down" There was NOTHING wrong with him, he was normal. But according to this exile in an ivory tower, he was not. Nope! Kids in the 6th and 7th grades need to be DOING not sitting.

When I was four my doctor thought I had adhd because I was running around in the doctors office. Thank god my parents didn’t take him seriously.

South Park covered this in an episode years ago. As students were made to spend more time sitting with fewer chances to burn off energy, some got hyper in class. If they were also smarter kids, they could get very bored at the slow pace and that made it worse. South Park showed that the "solution" was pills. Pills meant money so there was pressure for more and more to be prescribed. Long term effects weren't considered, just grab money now.
