We're running out of time, 40 years later, we're running out of time

I live in Australia. We have population of around 27M and have huge coal and gas reserves. Our brilliant Government has shut down our coal fired electricity generators and has chosen to go “clean/green”. Even if we (Aust) totally cut all emissions the impact on the planet would be less than 1/10th of a degree. Now we have a completely unreliable power grid and our power prices are through the roof. Meanwhile we export our resources to China and India that burn them at far greater rates than we would have in the first place. Please help this make sense!😳
