I couldn't even wear a hat in school. Wtf has schools become?
I won the award for worst parent alive for not allowing my children to have phones. Yes, I know, everyone else has one...kinda like tattoos. Thank-you.
I worked in a school that would have kids turn in their cell phones into little drawers every morning as they came in, and they'd sign them out at the end of the day. Absolutely necessary.
All for it. In fact, I'm all for banning kids under the age 16 from having a smart phone period. Allowed them non-smart phones for phone calls. That's all they really need.
Graduated HS in 2014 and my school would suspend you for using your phone during class
I have seen toddlers who could barely walk and talk, have a narcotic addiction type fit when they had their tablet or phone taken away. Screaming, crying, jumping up and down until the parent gives up and hands the child a device. The sad thing is that many times, the device doesn't even have to be turned on! The child's "detox" symptoms fade just by having that device in their hand!
I wasn’t allowed a cellphone until I was old enough to pay for it myself.
Based on my own upbringing, I have concluded that most people shouldn’t be parents. Parents find their kids to be annoying burdens and wish to keep them distracted, but simultaneously want control over their child. The smart phone is a distraction and a tether. But it’s also rotting all of our brains.
I find it odd that cell phones were ever allowed in schools in the first place.
The only positive of allowing phones is to record inappropriate behavior.
