Order your copy of The Let Them Theory 👉 https://melrob.co/let-them-theory 👈 The #1 Best Selling Book of 2025 🔥 Discover how much power you truly have. It all begins with two simple words. Let Them. — You will not believe how much better you feel when you say these 6 words. This is one of the most transformative conversations ever, on the Mel Robbins Podcast. And it’s about… your clothes. If you’ve ever stood in front of your closet thinking: “I have nothing to wear.” “Nothing fits right.” “I don’t feel good in my body.” “Whatever… I’ll just wear the same thing again.” This conversation will change that. Erin Walsh is a celebrity stylist and Women’s Wear Daily Stylist of the Year who teaches the psychology of getting dressed with intention. She is also Mel’s stylist who dressed her for the Golden Globes! In this conversation, Erin will show you how to stop walking into your closet and picking the same jeans, the same black shirt, the same outfit on repeat. Instead, Erin will teach you the 6 words that will transform the clothes you already own into tools to help you become the “supernova” version of yourself. No shopping. No trends. No pressure to be “a fashion person.” You need to start this tomorrow morning, here’s why: You have to get dressed every day, so why not get intentional about it? In this episode, you’ll learn: -A brand-new way to get dressed that makes you feel BETTER, not worse -Why your clothes are keeping you stuck - and how to change that -Why you don’t need to buy anything to feel fabulous -How to stop hiding and start dressing to feel confident, powerful, and beautiful -The mindset shift that changes your mood, confidence, and energy all day -Why “I have nothing to wear” is almost never true (and what’s really going on underneath it) -Why “cleaning out your closet” feels impossible and how to do it the right way -One simple trick that will finally help you donate clothes you never wear (this is so freeing!) -The BEST and most unique gift idea for every woman you love (my daughters will be getting this every year for the holidays. It’s brilliant!) -The ONLY item to buy if you feel like you need something new Mel and Erin put the method to the test with women on Mel’s team: a new mom, a postmenopausal woman, and a breast cancer survivor. You’ll hear the real emotion (yes, some tears), the honesty, and the surprising transformation that happens when you stop getting dressed to hide – and start getting dressed to live the life you always wanted. Thanks, Mel. Needed to hear this. Oh wow, let me just say this straight from the soul: the way you drop a title like “6 Words to Tell Yourself Every Morning” feels like you’re casually handing humanity the cheat codes to life while sipping tea and minding your business, and honestly, I respect that level of calm power. So there I was this morning, half awake, hair looking like it was negotiating its own labor contract, when I clicked your video and thought, “Luise, girl, pay attention, this might save you from replying to emails with the emotional stability of a raccoon in a recycling bin.” And goodness, it hit me. It reminded me of the time I tried to hype myself up before a big presentation by whispering affirmations in the bathroom mirror, only for a coworker to walk in and hear me say, “You are a majestic force of competence, do not crumble,” and she just froze like she’d walked in on a ritual. But hey, it worked, because I crushed that presentation so hard the projector blinked twice like it needed a moment. And watching your video title gave me that same spark, that same “yes, let’s get it together before life gets me first” energy. Honestly, I love how you make productivity feel less like a punishment and more like a team sport where we’re all cheering each other on while tripping over our own shoelaces. So thank you for this, truly. If my mornings were a sitcom, you just wrote the plot twist that finally gets my character arc back on track. Now excuse me while I go practice my six words before my coffee judges me again.

I feel like so much of the advice we receive around fashion and clothing is to emulate; a look, a celebrity, a trend. And the conversation hasn't been about what would make ourselves feel good. Thank you for this powerful reframe!!

Oh how I loved this. I am almost 60. I have about 20 pounds I need to lose. I am not sticking myself with a needle to lose weight I just don’t want to do that. Instead I have started to walk. I lost 20 pounds before by walking albeit about 8 years ago but I am doing it. I am now in my right head space to do it. This was wonderful to hear. I constantly beat myself up and listen to the constant noise about just take the shot. Nope! I got this! You proved the confidence in me now. 5,4,3,2,1! Love you Mel and staff! ❤

Love this and needed to hear this! Age 67 retiree with a very active lifestyle but the smaller jeans just don't really fit comfortably. They are being donated today and I am headed shopping! This is freeing! It did a closet "cathartic cleanout" when I retired from having to wear suits and high heels....that was delightful!

OH MY GOD MEL!! First off, I am SOOO glad you did this podcast. I seriously cannot thank you enough! IT IS SO PERSONAL! I feel like I have been dragged down a dirt road for the last 7 years of my life ( I just turned 59) since I went into perimenopause and menopause. I looked at my clothes and it was like they didn’t belong to me. There was such a disconnection! And it has lasted until this very moment. I got rid of ALL of my clothes- just down to a very very minimal amount. I literally have spent the last couple of days( prior to this show) trying to figure this whole thing out. I dont have the same body- I am only 5’1 ( I shrunk 2”) And I’m at least 20-25lbs over weight. I weigh 136lbs. It sucks. I want to feel elegant. I want to feel comfortable. I want to feel good about myself with what I’m wearing. Even my walking clothes and my yoga clothes don’t fit. I am now inspired and I feel like whatever and however I am shaped- I CAN DO THIS! I can create a new feeling, obviously a new wardrobe to bring that new feeling. Love this so much thank you Dawn Marie🌸💞

I absolutely loved this episode. It affirmed my beliefs about style. At 74,I love fashion — trendy, edgy dresses with heeled sandals. My look is one that people may say is youthful though I don’t believe age is attached to clothing — as was stated on your podcast, you should dress how you feel and how you want to feel. A woman’s style is absolutely attached to her identity. I have written about this for older women because I think many feel they have to dress in an older lady “age-appropriate” style, losing their true selves when they follow this so-called rule. I appreciate that you empowered women of all ages to dress in a way that expresses who they are — not who they think they are supposed to be. You have the platform and following to spread this message so thank you very much!

Today I’m off for spring break and I said before finding this podcast - how do I want to feel - I did not intentionally say these words - I thought it. Today I wanted to feel sexy. I put back my cotton panties and whipped out a very nice matching set. And then I put back my comfortable airport outfit and pulled out my hi waisted flare jeans and crop top to go to my doctor’s appointment. I just got the biggest compliment in the elevator at the doctor and I shared the podcast with the lady.

This is resonating hard. I wear big clothes. Ive lost 170 lbs and I have held on to my bigger clothes so I can wear them and feel "small" because I had no choice but to take up space and be noticed for the wrong reasons. But using that word, small, makes me feel small. I want to take up space in the way I WANT. I dont want to hide anymore. I want to wear pretty things and be noticed positively.

The guest barely spoke! What she did say was very valuable.
