The way Mel listens, how she listens ❤ it’s so rare, it’s beautiful to watch
Wouldn’t it be nice if our schools taught this for at least one semester in every grade.. through college?!
“There is nothing to fix. Only learning” 👌🏼
Please have him on again! So many podcasts about muscle strength and increasing longevity, and while important, so are our muscles and strength on the inside. Thanks to you both.
I work in a tax office as a receptionist. It’s WAY more difficult than what the average person thinks. You are constantly meeting different people, with different perspectives, experiences, social economic status etc, etc. the best thing I can do is literally meet a person where they are at, and not take ANYTHING personally. It can be exhausting.
Dr Ramani had mentioned that she would rather raise children (and did) with emotional intelligence than book smart. That came to mind as I was listening to Dr Marc. Thanks, Mel! Thanks Dr Marc. I'll listen to this again, I'm sure!
Three pages of notes....❤❤❤ this needs to be taught in high school and junior high, heck this needs to be taught to new parents! Thanks again Mel. Your podcast makes me a better me🥰🥰
1. Emotional intelligence is a learnable skill set crucial for success, health, and meaningful relationships. 2. Use the RULER framework (Recognize, Understand, Label, Express, Regulate) to manage emotions rather than being controlled by them. 3. Suppressing emotions creates an internal debt that eventually manifests in poor mental and physical health. 4. Being an emotion ally for others requires presence, warmth, and non-judgmental listening instead of trying to fix their problems. 5. Recognize that emotions are data; anxiety often signals uncertainty about things you care about, while anger points to perceived injustice. 6. Use the picture frame technique to observe difficult situations or people as a movie, creating distance instead of absorbing their energy. 7. You always have the power to choose your response, allowing you to move forward instead of staying stuck in past patterns.
When I get the age of Dr. Brackett... I clearly know I'm gonna act, manage and demonstrate my feelings as his uncle learnt him... I know for sure ! Mel, I cannot have precise words to thank you ..... Just God continues blessing you and guides you❤❤❤👌🏻🧠🙏🏼💚
Please have him again! Thank you both for sharing all of your stories and how you were feeling. These examples made it so relatable, and the tools are so practical to my day-to-day life. We have so many videos telling people how to be successful and be more productive. But dealing with emotions and leveraging these tools to regulate them would be the foundational work and more important than other tools. Thank you! this is very helpful for me to find my inner peace
