I just started listening to your podcast. I'm 76 and I have been having problems dealing with anything. I've been depressed, anxiety, exhaustion, etc. I've been told I am a hypochondriac. My bloodwork is great. I had no desire to get off the couch, apathy is me. I've been dealing with this for years. My heart was having extra beats. I knew something was wrong. My home was a mess. My yard was a mess. Termites was eating everything. I had no money. I was overwhelmed. The doctors would pat me on the head. I've been diagnosed with Parkinson's. Anyway every time I started doing anything I was to tired. In the last two weeks I started everday new. My goal was to get one thing done. I need to make my day with new developed habits. I would do something for around 20 minutes, rest. Then go back to what was doing, rest. Etc etc. I made an Excel weekly calendar and list what I was doing on half hour segments. So far I'm doing better and feeling better.
I'm 102, I've lost all my children, but I'm glad I'm learning new strategies based on science-backed evidence to spend more time with my friends. LOVE IT
"Learning how to change is a skill". I needed to hear this again, today.
*We paid off our last credit card on New Year's Eve so we're into 2026 credit card free! This year we plan to pay off our truck, which is our last debt (other than our mortgage) and then we are never going back!!*
I am 82 and have made a decision to make changes as a single elder. What an amazing Video / PodCast. Since I am not planning on going to my grave just yet, (that is in the hands of my Creator), I am motivate, more than ever before, to make so many areas of my life so much better. Thank You and Professor Milkman for all your amazing knowlege and the willingness to share with others so we, as a listeners, can improve out lives. My new walking pad arrives today and hopefully, as I walk each day, I can set it up so that I can listen to more of your amazing podcast or read something I love. And this is just one of the ways, I plan to improve my life, Happy New Year to you and your family!
At 30.40 I literally have to pause to comment that i am cleaning my bathroom while listening to this 😂
I appreciated the fresh start segment, like a new year or birthday etc...today I happened to decide that every day is a fresh start, a new beginning. Therefore, no woes or disappointment about what did or didn't get done yesterday. Today is a new day. Making small steps to a big goal is also very encouraging.
I’m 51, male, single. Listening to this podcast while working at FedEx. I’m trying to write my comeback story with my life. Thanks Dr. Milkman & Mel. Strategy Strategy Strategy!
Listening to this while I am cleaning 3 bathrooms in a Monday afternoon 😅
This is my favorite episode of them all, she was able to explain things clearly and makes it feel achievable for this new year. May we all achieve the things we aspire to do. I feel proud for all our hardwork as humas all these years, everything is worth it and will still be in the future❤
